Fishing Report for August 1st thru August 17th

The trout bite this month has been slow due to high water temps and a consistent high pressure. The air temps. sure hasn't made things very comfortable either. There are still a few schools of redfish roaming the ULM flats but the fish seem to be very wary and not wanting to cooperate at times.

We did get lucky for a few days and were able to benefit from the summer flounder run a few days ago. I was able to find a very good bite on flounder for a couple of days using live bait and fishing a drop-off on the ICW. Clients caught their limits of some very nice flatfish, up to 23".

This has happen to me before during the hot summer months a few years age but the bite lasted a few more days.

Maybe a little rain or cool front in the next 3 or 4 weeks will get that trout bite rolling again, but until that happens we'll take what the ULM gives us.

Hope to see you soon
Mike
